Biography
Karl Fisher’s practice focuses on representing insurers as coverage and litigation counsel for matters involving directors and officers (D&O), errors & omissions (E&O), general commercial, cyber, and other professional liability policies. He advises insurers across a range of industries, including banking, financial services, and other commercial sectors. Karl also handles matters involving various business torts for both defense and plaintiff side litigation.
Karl is an experienced litigator, handling matters through all stages of litigation – from inception to resolution – in state and federal courts, as well as mediations and arbitrations.
Prior to joining the firm, Karl served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department; his practice included defending CPLR Article 78 challenges against the City of New York and its agencies, enforcing and resolving commercial property criminal code violations, and tort litigation. Karl was an awardee of the 2021 Law Department's Tort Division Chief Award for outstanding performance as a first-year attorney.
Karl is a volunteer for the Justice Resource Center, where he serves as a mock trial coach and an annual judge for the "We the People" civics competition.
