Biography
Kadian Townsend focuses her practice on representing insurance companies in coverage disputes arising out of complex underlying litigation involving shareholder derivative suits, securities class actions, special purpose acquisition companies, and SEC investigations. Kadian also handles various commercial litigation matters involving breach of contract, negligence, and other common law claims before New York State courts.
Kadian previously served in the Tax Clinic at the David A. Clarke School of Law, where she represented low-income individuals facing IRS and District of Columbia tax controversies. She also assisted in the representation of non-profit organizations on civil rights employment discrimination issues, while serving in the Civil Rights/Legislation Clinic.
Kadian is an active member of the Education Committee for the Global Jamaica Diaspora Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade for the Government of Jamaica, West Indies.
